Jim Dahl is an expert designer and model maker with a focus on commercial products and toy design. He has over 30 years experience working with a wide range of clients to develop products, prototypes, modify designs for manufacturing and transforming 2D ideas into 3D reality. He studied Industrial Design at Pratt Institute and worked as an in-house model maker for Walter Dorwin Teague, Olin Ski, Reiner Creative Group, Buddy L and others before opening his own shop in 1981. He has completed many projects for  Coleco, Timex, Lionel Trains, Stanley Tools and others. His focus in recent years has been in the toy industry and he has had many repeat assignments from Fisher Price, Design Innovation, inventors and more.

Jim works in a wide variety of materials, including urethane foam and block, wood, all plastics, auto paints and metal. He has a keen eye for the details that often get missed and a track record of saving his clients time, money and resources in addition to executing exemplary craftsmanship in every piece that he delivers. He can work alone or partner with other independent or in-house model makers and designers. Jim has worked with clients from all over the world. He creates his models out of his studio/workshop in Connecticut.
